LDS Family Services assists Church leaders and members in identifying and assessing community resources to meet mental, social, and emotional needs in a manner consistent with gospel principles. LDS Family Services will also work with Church Leaders and members to assess and develop community resources that are already in use by members.
Using Local Resources
Although there is no substitute for the inspired counsel and priesthood blessings given by bishops or branch presidents and other priesthood leaders, it is appropriate for leaders to refer members to local professional resources within their communities.
Resources that are often used include:
- Mental health therapists.
- Addiction-recovery resources.
- Psychiatric hospitals
- Treatment centers
